Manchester United will formally confirm Tom Heaton’s comeback until July 1st.
The 35-year-old goalkeeper is expected to join the Red Devils during the next summer transfer window.
According to Football Insider, the transaction has already been finalised, with the medical scheduled for ‘later in June.’
Heaton spent the season with Aston Villa, but his contract with the club has ended.
United is expected to sign the newly-minted free agent to a two-year contract. It will also have the opportunity to extend the deal for an additional year.
David De Gea and Dean Henderson are the front runners to bag the number 1 jersey.
He will step into the shoes of the club’s third-choice goalkeeper, which has been left vacant by the departure of Sergio Romero.
