Another day, another report about Raphael Varane, who has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid on several occasions.

Man Utd has an offer of £50m to recruit a French international deal whose current term at the Bernabeu is due to expire in just 12 month, according to Manchester Evening News.

However, according to MEN, the offer has been rejected by the 13-time European Champions, who would only sell their treasured possession if their asking price of £80 million is fulfilled.

It is said that the Red Devils are hesitant to match the above-mentioned fee, which is understandable given that the player might be tempted for free next year.

In all fairness, Varane would have worth £80 million if he had only a few years left on his contract, since he is one of the world’s best central defenders.

Man Utd started terribly last season but finally got off to a really good start. But Ole’s men regularly dropped points when Maguire was injured. Not to forget, Liverpool’s defense title has derailed, mostly due to the lack of a majority of the campaign following knee surgery by its super-star, Van Dijk.

So, to command the backline, Solskjaer needs recruit an experienced player, and there aren’t many better than World Champion Raphael Varane, who has won four Champions League championships.
