According to rumors, Manchester United and Arsenal have made “the most serious enquiries” for Italy and Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi.
The Red Devils are searching for a free agent, with Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho once again leading their list, but Domenico appears to be an alternative option to Sancho for United.
Berardi scored the first goal in his country’s first UEFA Euro 2020 match against Turkey on Friday. Last season, the 26-year-old scored 17 goals and assisted on seven others in 30 Serie A games.
And Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport reports that there is interest in the Premier League from Old Trafford and Mikel Arteta, who have apparently requested information.
Tottenham would also like Domenico following the appointment of Fabio Paratici as general director of football. Italians are said to accept a fee of around £ 42.9 million (€ 50 million) for the player whose contract runs until 2024.
Berardi has spent his entire professional career at the club after joining the club as a teenager in 2010, making nearly 300 appearances for the senior team.
United’s interest in the star will surely depend on the outcome of their search for Jadon.
BVB has lowered its asking price compared to last year, but United have yet to offer a rate that the Bundesliga team will accept.
