John Barnes says Aston Villa will have no problems keeping Jack Grealish this summer and warns him against joining Manchester United.
The Englishman had a fantastic season for the Villa, scoring six goals and grabbing ten assists in 24 Premier League appearances.
For the postponed Euros this summer, Jack’s form won him No. 7 shirts in the England Squad and it has also been heavily linked to a megapayment in the transfer window.
Manchester United and Manchester City have been heavily linked with his signature, but Liverpool legend Barnes believes Grealish is far better suited to stay at his current club.
John told betting odds, ‘I don’t think Aston Villa will fight to maintain it as I think he ought to remain at Villa Park.’
‘He is such a different type of player, so that Jack can’t just go and get the ball off these great players to one of the bigger clubs, with a bigger structure and supermarket players around him.
“Tell Manchester United, for example, that Jack can’t go and ask Paul Pogba or Bruno Fernandes for a ball as though he’s the major player. He’d have a more disciplined role to play.”
